Terms and Conditions of Motorhome Hire:

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of motorhomes provided by Escape motorhome hire , we  to the customer you/the hirer. By booking a hire, you agree to these terms in full.

1. Booking and Payment

A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to confirm your booking.

The remaining balance must be paid in full 14 days before the hire start date.

If full payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.

2. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of £500 is payable no later than the day of collection.

This will be refunded in full within 7 working days of return, provided the vehicle is returned on time, in good condition, with no damage, and a half tank of fuel.

Any deductions for damages, cleaning, missing items, or late return fees will be itemised and deducted from this deposit.

3. Cleaning Fees

The motorhome must be returned in a clean and tidy condition, both inside and outside.

If the motorhome is returned in an unsatisfactory condition, a cleaning fee of £40 will be charged. This includes:

Dirty or stained upholstery, carpets, or surfaces

Unemptied toilet cassette or waste water tanks

Excessive dirt, rubbish, or odours

4. Damage and Repairs

You are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft to the motorhome or its contents during the hire period.

Any repairs or replacements required due to damage (excluding fair wear and tear) will be charged to you.

All damages must be reported immediately.

You are not permitted to make unauthorised repairs. We must approve all repairs in advance.

5. Insurance and Driver Eligibility

Comprehensive insurance is included in the hire for one named driver, subject to eligibility:

Aged 20-75

Held a full UK or EU driving licence for at least 2 years

Free from serious endorsements (DR, IN, or more than 6 points)

Additional drivers may be added for an extra charge.

Insurance does not cover personal belongings or damage due to negligence, illegal activity, or breach of these terms.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations must be made in writing.

The following charges apply:

More than 42 days before hire: Loss of deposit

28–42 days before hire: 50% of hire cost

Less than 28 days before hire: 100% of hire cost

No refunds are given for late pick-up, early return, or no-shows.

7. Vehicle Use and Restrictions

The vehicle must only be driven by authorised drivers.

No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the motorhome.

Pets are only allowed with prior written agreement and may incur an additional cleaning fee.

The vehicle must not be used:

For any illegal purpose

On unsealed roads or off-road

For towing

Under the influence of alcohol or drugs

8. Breakdowns and Accidents

In the event of a breakdown, contact us immediately and follow the roadside assistance instructions.

If involved in an accident, you must obtain details of all parties involved and report the incident to the police and us as soon as possible.

9. Fuel and Mileage

The motorhome must be returned with a half tank of fuel.

A refuelling charge of £60 will apply if not returned with half a tank.

10. Return Conditions

The motorhome must be returned on the agreed date and time.

Late returns may be charged at £160 per day and may affect the availability for other bookings.

You are responsible for checking that you have removed all personal items upon return.

11. Liability and Indemnity

We are not liable for any loss or damage to your personal property during the hire period.

You agree to indemnify us for any fines, penalties, or charges incurred during the hire.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website and will apply to all future bookings.
